Climate crisis & cultural districts – the European context

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The impact and urgency of the climate crisis is incontestable. Even those in geographies historically less challenged like Europe and the UK are beginning to face unprecedented weather patterns and loss of biodiversity. The social repercussions of the climate crisis are also increasingly presenting us with the need to reassess moral imperatives on our daily lives and engrained processes.

Cultural districts, with their strong community connections and focus on stories of place and people, have a potentially significant role to play in climate justice and in the shift towards more environmentally responsible futures. Using Exhibition Road in London and MuseumsQuartierWien in Vienna as case studies, this session will explore what those responsibilities and accommodations are, and how they should be met.
